Live Presentation on NDC Ticketing
In a first, the Indian Travel Trade witnessed the NDC ticketing live at Mumbai. The first Live presentation ceremony of IAAI’s magic lamp i-Top (Indian Travel Agents Own Portal) powered by TravelShore was conducted at Mumbai last Tuesday (27th February 2018).
The Meeting was presided over by the National President Mr. Biji Eapen. General Secretary Mr. H.S. Chawla welcomed the gathering. The National Treasurer Mr. Devendra Ghule was already present at the Meeting.
Mr. Daniel Murphy, NDC on-boarding and Exploitation Manager (Selling and Distribution Team), British Airways was the chief guest for this event, where in, he detailed on the BA services and NDC ancillaries as well as enlightened us on the ways and avenues for revenue enhancement in these challenging times. Later there was a live presentation on EK flight, its products and all services and facilities which could be showcased directly to the customers.
i-Topis the first and only multi-system portal worldwide, that provides “a single platform” for both GDS (presently Galileo and soon Amadeus & Sabre) and NDC activities together, where the User Member can use GDS for ticketing and other related facilities and simultaneously access NDC-enabled airlines for unbundling their privileged facilities and ancillary products including direct ticketing.
The first NDC tickets in India was issued on British Airways by Magellan Travel Services at Chennai and benefited Rs.3992/- difference over the popular OTA. On 19th February, For V Holidays & Travels at Trivandrum had issued the first NDC Ticket on Emirates. The integration with Lufthansa is in progress.
And the ultimate success is that, in NDC, there is NO MORE ADMs. And the biggest achievement is that BA has agreed to provide capping to interested members without any additional financial guarantee and formalities.
It will facilitate Consolidators, OTAs or even any Member Agent to sell their own products through i-Top to the Network Users and the User Agents will have the flexibility to display all such related services, compare quality, services, trustworthiness, pricing and remunerative benefits that will help him to promote his products
- The GDS ticketing, hotel reservation and other services presented through i-top using the credentials of M/s. Speedwings Travel & Cargo Pvt. Ltd., Kochi
- The British Airways live ticket was issued by M/s. Magellan Travel Services using NDC Direct Connect technology provided by M/s. Verteil Technologies.
- The Emirates reservation, product and services presented through i-top using M/s. For V Holidays & Travels, Thiruvananthapuram using NDC Direct Connect technology.

The Presentation was highly interactive and well accepted by the industry. All queries from the Members present were answered. i-Top is user friendly and accessible to both IATA and Non-IATA Agents.
